Ao Haru Ride

 

The first Manga that i read was Ao Haru Ride also known as Blue Spring Ride.

I picked it up from where the anime left off. And well I really did like reading it.

PLOT:

        I like stories which have a childhood-friends sort of background or knew each other from before or for a long time. This anime/manga is about 2 middle school students Futaba and Kou who both had feelings for each other but never came out clean about it but when they do properly get to talk one day they make a promise to meet by the clock at some park or something for some event (sorry I don’t remember).



But before that one day at school Futaba flips out at a guy who was bugging her and yells “I hate boys” and much to her dismay Kou was also there and he hears it ~

 and well then he leaves without saying anything. On the day that they were about to meet.. she reached the decided location and waited and waited but he never showed up. When the school opened after the vacation she got the news that he transferred but nobody knew where and why?.

Well when she enters high school one day she surprisingly gets to meet Kou.. But he sure has changed a lot.. and is nothing like the Kou she knew back then.

Well that’s the plot right there.... NO NO..!! Don’t worry I am not giving out any spoilers..... YET.. :P

CHARACTERS:

Well below i have a few pictures of the characters both from the manga and the anime who have signicant roles in it .. sorry if it leaves out a few of the characters whom u’ll find in the manga.

I must say that all these characters were pretty mature and not annoying.

I disliked that Black haired girl who is beside Kou in the pic below (if you’ve read the manga you know why i said that .. and if you will read it in the future then u’ll get to know. Anyways she has a small part in it so its okay that it wasnt too irritating.)

I am not going to mention their names and write about them or their features though.. Cause i think that differs from person to person. You may think this person had these qualities or some might think otherwise. (Well I’m also a tad bit lazy lol)

What did I think about it? (The following includes spoilers~)



Well it was a nice shoujo manga although I hated how the super nice guy wasn’t shown being happy in the end.. poor chap Touma~ 

.. and it’s not like I ever hated or disliked Kou or anyone for that matter except Narumi .. She was a devil inside lol... even stole Kou’s first kiss (and he didn’t even clear that out with Futaba.. idiot Kou) .

I know Kou messed up at places but Futaba and Kou were meant to be together and so they did end up as a couple in the end..

But poor Touma didn’t deserve that.. Although i do think he might end up with Aya’s sister Lisa.. remember her ?? She made her debut in the 49^th chapter i think.. Well she seems to have a crush on Touma after he helped her out.. and she seems sweet so maybe they’ll get together :D ! 

 (I wish there’s an extra chapter showing what happens to Touma and that later he finds someone who deserves him and also loves him back. )

(Hahaha! although he does say something like this in one of the chapters “i like girls who are a bit round” lol)

Hmm.. About the character Narumi.. I disliked her because she kept using her family problems to get closer to Kou and also put him under a false sense of responsibility. She didn’t want him to recover from his grief as that was the only strong connection they had. It seriously pissed me off. But well that’s my view on this matter it may differ from others. :)

I would recommend that you watch it or read it because in my opinion it’s a nice and cute series.
If you are into shoujo mangas then it’s a must read cause I’m pretty sure you would like it !! :)
